As I have seen many threads about why their doors open so hard I figured I’d investigate, and I have solved the problem. Upon examining the door locking mechanism I noticed and adjustment bolt that over time loosens. When this happens the door becomes increasingly harder to open. Below is how to fix the problem. Tools needed: Just a 5/32 allen wrench.
Take the plastic cap located in the below picture off to expose the adjustment bolt.
Insert the long end of the 5/32 allen wrench into the hole carefully.
Once you have insterted the allen wrench turn the bolt clockwise. This is going to require some force as I had to turn it as hard as I could, it may seem like you are over-tightening it but you aren’t. Make small adjustments and keep checking the door by closing it and trying to open it. *Make sure you have your window down so that you may open the door on the inside if you need to.
Once you have adjusted your door to the desired setting then replace the plastic cap and you’re all done, enjoy your now easy to open door.
